The way it sounds is one of your solder points are loose its makeing the connection but either not very well or is able to wiggle and loose the connection.  But i could be wrong.  Why are you soldering anyways??  try installing it using the pogo pins i bet it works after that.

The only thing that made sence was that the Drive went themal (how no clule).
it wasnt like I OC'ed the dam thing at the time I only had the Cold Cathoid Ring Light going around the Jewl. So my only thereoy is that it just went themal running at 7200RPM.

I have since found a cheaper and larger HDD a Samsung 120GB @ 5400RPM and I haven't had one hickup yet.

Another thing I did't take into concideration was that I bought the Drive from a High-Street Electronics Shop that knows practicly nothing about Computers. So who knows how many times that poor HDD hit the Store Floor before I bought it!

Now might be a good time to backup your stuff to DVD. I hope this is not your problem. But unless you live in a Earthquake zone. I do not buy the fact that it's
just a misplaced X-B.I.T. Or did your poor XBOX take a trip to the Floor too??
I mean once installed these things don't go for a walk!
