Installing New Hd If Original Hd Is Dead!
« on: January 20, 2005, 12:30:00 PM »

Hey sir,

From reading your other posts, I see how you can use the Matrix to mod your xbox with your new hard drive... with the Slayer's Auto-Installer and what not... But I remember you telling me that you are borrowing your friend's MATRIX chip, so once you remove the MATRIX chip, the hard drive will no longer work...

Does anyone know how to keep that new hard drive working when the MATRIX chip is removed, since it's only used as a temporary solution?

Yes, install the new drive with the Matrix - then back up the eeprom and apply a softmod.  Here is a link to the softmod threads.
