im not sure what matrix i have, i bought it about 2 weeks before they discontinued them. I'm fairly certain that i have a 1.0 xbox as well if that helps any?

Get a pencil and paper and draw the LPC port, with the chip just above the lpc port you should see where each pogo pin sits, draw a basic diagram of the chips pogo pins and draw lines to each LPC hole. Once you know where each one goes cut a few lengths of wire (about 2 inches long) and solder them to the top of each pogo pin, you know where each goes in the LPC port.. For the D0 point i suggest a longer peice of wire to go under the mobo to the bottom D0 point, its easier than the top. Insulate the bottom of the chip with tape (where the pogo pins are) then hot glue it or tape it to the metal sheilding on the inside of the case. I did this and it works fine.

You can do all that or buy a spring you can stick to the top of the chip, so when you put the dvd drive in, it pushes the spring down pushing the chip down solid.
