What .xbe Files Do Various Matrix Bioses Boot To?
« on: January 08, 2005, 07:20:00 AM »

I have EvolutionX V2.5 256k for MatriX currently on my Matrix.  I had to rename evox's .xbe to xboxdash.xbe, and therefore, had to rename the original xboxdash.xbe.  Now that I want to go on LIVE with the Matrix turned off, I need to have the real xboxdash.xbe with its name unchanged.

Since the bios I am currently using didn't come with documentation, I do not know what the primary dashboard filename it is looking for.  If anyone knows the filename I should use for EvoX or another bios that would work and it's primary filename, please let me know.

Thank you.

Well you can do one of two things.

One Rename the original xbox dash board back and make a dvd-r with the evox on it and use that as the dashboard all the time and use the eject button to turn off the matrix chip.  This will be rather hard if you want to swich games.  In order for you to switch backup games you would need o have the game in the xbox when it is powered on otherwise when you hit the eject button it will switch to TSOP.

Secound is to get a  newer bios that still have the eject trick so you can turn off the matrix with the eject button and have the evoxdash.xbe file and the correctly named xboxdash.xbe as the ms dashboard.  This will allow you to have the eject option in evox so that you can eject the dvd without have to hit the eject button.  once your in the game if you hit the eject buton it will turn off the matrix mod chip.

One more addition please read!!!!!!
You must have the matrix mod chip in mode 3 in order to use it with XBlive.  Otherwise your going to have to change the mode.

One more last thing.  Please understand that you will need to test the matrix will not play a backup that it would play before you hit the eject button.  Also if you have everything configured correctly when you hit eject you should be in the ms dashboard.
