Hey, I am having similar problems to these people.  I just want to know how to disable the chameleon chip.  I used the new slayer auto installer 2.6 and redid everything from scratch.  I added some lines to my evox.ini including:

Item "Disable Mod and Reboot",ID_Chameleon_Release_D0,ID_Full_Reboot

When it reboots, an error screen comes up with a number 5, which I looked up and says it is a problem with my hd not being locked.  I tried locking it through the new slayer 2.6, and everything seems to go smoothly, but I guess it isn't locking.

Anyone have any input, because I really just want to play Halo 2 on xbox live!

Thanks

Well first let me tell you that not all after market hdd's are lockable.  The cheaper and less expencive hdds like maxtor and such are not lockable.  So first off do you have the origanal hdd or after market hdd installed.  Secound I know that slayer can lock the hdd with evox now hopefuly the evox locking is not working in your case but if you were to do a hdd lock with a third party software called config magic then you might be ok.

But to let you kow you are getting the chameleon chip disabled not likethe others that don't have that line added to the evox.ini so they can not disable the chameleon.

ok...so maybe my hd isn't lockable.  Is it possible to just take my chameleon 1.3 out of my xbox (v1.0) for 2 months while I play xbox live, and then once I deactivate my live account, put the chip back in?

No you need to get your old hdd and use that.  The locking hdd is so that you can disable your mod chip.  If you remove you mod chip you xbox will be useless a big chunck of plastic and metal. becuase you will still get the same error mesasge as you do now when you disable the chameleon.  Please understand there is nothing you can do with that hdd if it is infact unlockable.  Please try and try again to use config magic  I did not understand the reason you said it is not lockable if  you used config magic and it said so then I guesss your correct.  Please understand the problem is not the mod chip but the HDD.  I really hope that config magic will help you.

bdaboy you still there.

Please post what version of evox your useing.  You get this from the settings menu and or from the bottom of the tv.  in settings you will need to go pretty far down the list.

I am thinking your version of evox is before the chameleon scripting was installed.

oh..ok, so now i have to find out where to get config magic, and try it out.  I am using version 3935 of evox.  Everything that came with slayer auto installer 2.6 is what i have currently.  I am using an old 20gb hd, that is why I just figured it might not be lockable.  I would rather not go back to the original hd, but I guess I might.

P.S. There isn't any switches I need to set on the chip itself are there?  It is set to default, which i believe boots in mode 1.

Thanks

Ok that tells me alot.

Thankx.

Your version of evox is prior to the one where they added the code to be able to control you chameleon.  I would suggest you goto #xbins (to access this place you can find it on xbox-scene in the tutorials) ftp site and then download evolutionx is the name of it.  Get the latest version and then take the xbe file out of the stand alone and not the iso.  Next ftp onto your xbox c drive and place the file with a new name do not replace anything yet.  Then if you have xbox explorior or XBMC installed run that xbe file this xbe file should use your evox.ini file and it should look the same just a newer version at the bottom.  Oh big differance is that the disable chameleon will also start workin.
