Problem With My Matrix
« on: August 26, 2004, 09:31:00 AM »

First things first.  Unless you plan on soldering the matrix you can't use it in a v1.2.  To make it work you need to solder the matrix (as far as I know) in version 1.2 - 1.5.....

Also, try a new battery in the matrix.  What mode (the little dip switches) do you have it set to?

When flashing it will be red that is fine.

Use a solding iron and remove the d0 pin from the matrix and check a guide for the d0 on a 1.2 mother board solder a wire to that poing and screw the matrix on and then solder the wire to the matrix d0 wire.

As for the programs you will need to get them off of #xbins on irc efnet.

That is the name of the point that the version 1.2 enables and siables the mod chip for installation you just need to know it is the single pin that is alon on the mod and you will need to solder a wire from the mod and onto the motherboard.  There are tuts with pictures of the points you will need to solder.

Well one point the d0 on motherboard and the pin above the smile face (or at least my matrix has a smiley face on it.)

Mine has a smile face near it.  It is the lone pogo pin.  You have a cluster of 9 pogo pins and then you have a loner.  The loner is the one I was refering to.

If I can find a pic I will put it up.  If not I will even try a text drawing.  HEHEHE.

Ok editing it now.

If you see the watermark it is the pin right above the M in Matrix.
It is also in the middle of the alignment holes.  Also once soldered you will not need to really align the chip.

You can remove the pogo pin with the soldering iron on top and a pair of pliers on bottom and pussing up will free it.  The pogo pin has a great solder pad for you to work with.  I thing the correct mode is 1 off and 2 on.  What ever gets the chip to be green will do though.

Does not look like you missed anything.

You should remobe it becuase it could short out something on the xbox.  unless you are in abundent supply of xboes I would remove the pogo pin.  Even if it is with a pair of dikes I woud remove it.
