3 Time Reset Syndrome - Matrix
« on: August 08, 2004, 04:59:00 PM »

I have had the matrix chip in my xbox working flawless for about 2 years.  I'm having the 3 time reset syndrome now.  The chip flashes green in test mode and green in 2.  the contact seems fine with the LPC points.  I have reseated the chip a few times just to make sure.

Could I have possibly lost the bios?  Is that even possible?

Thanks

It is possible.  Try the alignment again as the D0 isn't making contact properly.  If you have it out, reflash with newer bios if you want (x4983.xx or M8 ) to rule that problem out.

Just flashed the m8 bios onto my chip.  Now I get error code 21.

chip is in mode 2.

I tried booting a DVD-RW loaded with evox but failed.
Retail games boot fine.

Does anyone have any thoughts on using slayers evox autoinstall?

Any other suggestions from anyone?

Thanks

This is so strange.  At least the power cycle issue is no more.

I can boot originals but not burned dvds.

The chip is booting the M8 bios screen but gives error 21 before loading EvoX.

Can the chip boot the bios screen without making correct contact?

Could it be a mobo issue?

Thanks

Hey man is the m8 bios the m8_1.6 bios if so I think that might be the problem.  Strange thing is I was under the impression that the m8_1.6 might not boot up at all but then again I could be wrong.

Really sounds like a bios error.  I use the m7 non eject fix and that seems to work fine.
