The switch is in software.  You must use evox dash to software turn off your chameleon.  Also you can do the eject and power thing in mode 4.

Evox setting to turn off chip so you can play live games.

Item "XBLive",ID_Chameleon_Release_D0,ID_Full_Reboot

Now you can call it whatever you want but the id_... has to say that though.

to play Live without getting banned I need an original HDD without non-MS .XBE, so that's not an option for me.

no you don't to get ride of the none ms xbe's but you do need the ms dashboard.  Also you need your hard drive locked use config magic to do that.

Huh? Color me confused. First I didnt know the Cham worked on 1.6's so the next part may be Null.

Can you connect the P/E wires up on the 1.6? That way Eject disables the modchip like on any other version Xbox. I always connect P/E wires.

If not, can't you just put a switch between the LFRAME wire and Ground, one way on the switch would still ground the wire, the other way wont, letting the Xbox boot the original bios.

wow, I thought to disable the chameleon you only had to start up a certain way.  Does anyone have experience with this.  I thought I read that if you do something like hold down the power button for 3 seconds, it boots normally and disables chip so you can play on live.  Is there something to this effect?

That is if you have a 1.0 to 1.5 xbox and you have the p/e wires hooked up.  The problem with disableing mod chips in 1.6 is that the LPC (not lfram Sorry) is booted first.  The chameleon should not be able to work with 1.6 unless you use m8_1.6 bios and reconnect up the entire LPC(not lfram sorry) via the cheap mod instructions.  cut the trace on the mobo.

I got a chameleon to work in a 1.6.  I rebuilt the LPC and used a pinheader, but I had to ground LFRAME directly to the the motherboard, it would frag if it was connected to the D0 on the chip.  It would also frag if it LFRAME was not connected at all.  If you wanted to disable the chip I would think you would need a switch between LFRAME and ground, as well as between power on the Chameleon and the MOBO.  There is a thread on something similar with an Xecuter 2.3b that may be applicable here.

Xecuter disable on a 1.6 thread

OK Bottom of the 1.6 board board.

Rebuild lpc (sorry not lframe)
Here is a Pic

Next cut trace for lframe
and do not solder pin 7 I beleive.  Pin header remove pin 7

http://img67.photobu...rt/DSC01711.jpg

You will need to connect a wire to a switch and the lframe before and after cut.  The pic show wire before the cut.

Switch will work like this.

Enabled lfram to chameleon (pin 7) I think
disabled Lframe back to motherboard reconnecting the cut wire.

Hope this helps

Also pewpster try removeing pin 7 from you pin header or use a marker and shield it from a connection and see if that helps you power you mobo bios with lfram not grounded.
