if you have stuff on your hard drive that you wanna keep before you rebuild it - i would suggest getting a evox mech assault exploit or any other exploit with evox - and then put that on a memory card and boot up and run the evox from the game - ftp all the files you wanna keep back to your computer and then reformat with slayers.

what i did was bought a memory card from best buy and used the exploit then after i was done i returned it. - you have 30 days.

And i dont recall about formatting but I am pretty sure you could actually just install evox.   (on c:)

If I'm not mistaken, you can install just a dash with slayers, which is what you would want. Also you can use FTP with the bootdisk to backup the drive. What mosta probably happened is that you have your dash named as xboxdash.xbe and the MS dash as msdash.xbe. Live update changed your default dash to the new Live Dashboard.

Dude forget slayer get the evox.iso burn that to a cd-rw or dvd and run evox via that.  This will put up ftp and then you reinstall via ftp.  That is slightly harder but tons safer. I mean tons.
