If I am correct to assume that the hard drive is not the original or it was formated or something. I have a feeling it is ether unlocked or a new eeprom was installed and the hard drive lock was not replaced. You can see if the hard drive is not locked but seeing if a pc can read it. If a pc can not read it then it is locked with a wrong hdd access code for your eeprom bios. If it is unlocked then you need to flash your mod chip and download the program config magic. That will relock your hard drive if it is unlocked. If you replaced your hard drive in your xbox with a non lockable hard drive then you will always require to run the bios off the mod and never play xbox live. If your drive is not lockable but you feel as if it is the original hard drive then reply with the type of drive it is. Please don't reply with the type of drive it is unless you have used config magic and it told you it was not lockable.
