what mod chip do you have in now - and how is it setup?

i have a couple of chips but none of them are installed. When i power up it tries three times and then it just stops. Any ideas?

Did you try to install a chip ? What type ie: Solderless or soldered? If it is fragging without a modchip in there, you might have lifted a trace during an install....killed D0 or something.....Give a little more information.....

Its a solderless matrix chip with 4983 on it. I am pretty sure there isnt a lifted trace. But I have a good feeling that the D0 isnt lining up. I was thinking of just soldering a wire to that point and then to the chip. Thanks in advance. I am not sure if this is all the information you need.

Look in the guides to preping the d0 etc (tutorials section) and the LPC points if they have solder in them already.

Please clarify if you xbox works when no modchip is installed. If it is booting fine without then you have a bad connection with the matrix to one of the LPC points.

Insert the screw into the modchip(don't tighten yet)

From the side, visually line up the d0 (you should get the light in mode 4 I think?

SLowly with your other had tighten the screw till there is a bit of tension(just a bit, not to much or you'll scratch a trace).

No move the matrix till you have all 3 leds lit. Then tighten the screw down some more till there is no movement. Hope this helps.

This is the only way I could successfully get mine to install and I've had it in over a year now with no problems. (not one FRAG, reboot etc). It's been rock solid.

If your lpc holes havent got solder already in then theres your problem. it says that the matrix chip works with v1.1 but thats only like 1 in a million chance.

Have you tried unlocking your hdd and had no luck? that might of coursed it. but it normaly only boots up 3 times when the chips not in properly. have you plugged everything back in then tried it?

According to the stuff on here uve either damaged ur d0. Or if theres nothing coming on the t.v then uve knocked off a capacitor
