Matrix Install...help!
« Reply #2 on: July 13, 2004, 11:02:00 AM »

I burned it about 10 times on 6 different media...dvd-r, dvd-rw, cdr-w....pretty much everything and nothing worked. I am pretty convinced it is the chip that is not installed properly. I try to install it and all I get is red flashing light on the chip...what should I do...should I solder all the points?

thanks for all the help...really appreciate it.

for some reason the matrix chip can loose its bios when its not installed onto the mobo.... so its possible that you need to reflash a bios on it... Also what OS were you trying the flash the chip on? I have Win XP and it works great.... did you check the battery if its dead?

I used a battery that is not exactly new, but I will go out and get one that is brand new and see how that works. I heard though that sometimes you have to try it on 3 or more computers before you can find one that it works with...I am using XP. First thing I will do when I get it back and find out that this guy either wouldnt help me or cant, I will flash it and try again...I get a light on the chip, so I am thinking that the chip must still be good. Is there a way to check to see if the chip is fried or not?

No it is not messed up but... one of the lcp ports are not hooked up corecltly or the bios is blank on it.  Just remove the matrix and program it and then install it again.

I forgot to update you guys. I had the thing in the wrong setting for the chip...it was in test mode...when I put it in override bios mode, then it started fine...now I just need a hard drive and then I am good to go.

Thanks for everyones help...you guys are great!!
