maybe try to clean the points on both the chip and motherboard with alcohol??????

and/or if you have acces to another chip you could try that

That happened to me and I pulled out the Matrix and reprogrammed it using a Evox 2.5. Programmed and popped it back in.. works again. I think i fried it when I was turning on and off the xbox quickly.

note to self: do not turn xbox on and off quickly

nah dude matrix chips have a way of just getting out of alignment....just take it out and re align it and it will work again...pain in the ass i know but better than buying a new chip.
