I have the exact same problem with my friends Xbox. However, it won't even read the EVOX cd. I took the chip out and reflashed it with the latest bios but still nothing. Did anyone figure out this problem yet?

i had a matrix chip for awhile and the best way to deal with the chip is to solder it to the points. that will make it stay in place for good. its not hard, i wasnt an expert at soldering at first which is why my first matrix blew up...HOWEVER i did get another one from a friend and solder it and did it correctly and was in bliss after that. thats the only way to deal with the matrix chips. Otherwise get another solderless chip cause the matrix was aight but it was a pain in the ass at times.

Just solder wires to the top part of the pogo pins which is very easy and then solder the wires where the pogo pins sits. find the d0 point which there are several tuts here in the scene to help you out. its real easy.
