Xbox Dash/hd Problems
« on: October 06, 2003, 01:30:00 PM »

yeah, i have a modded box, was using avalaunch, was gonna switch back to evox, as im transferring the new evox xboxdash.xbe file the network shits out. I cant finish the transfer, and xbox locks up. So i try and reboot, error 16 dashboard files error. so i just said fuck it, and formatted the HD since i had all the shit backed up on my comp. so i put the HD back in and now the xbox will not boot to New HD evox. Wont work with TDK DVD-r or memorex 4x CDRW. So what do i do now? I thought it might have been a problem with the HD, so i did a zero fix, and zeroed the whole HD, so there are absolutely no files on it. But i still get error 16 when i try to boot New HD evox iso.

please help

If you are using a "soft" modded box out of luck - time to HD swap.

If using a hardware mod - try a different type of media to launch evox from a CD/DVD

Did you unplug the Xbox for a while?  It's possible the clock got reset, and if you're using an X2 BIOS you won't be able to boot the Xbox until the clock is set again.

no, the box wasnt unplugged
i have no idea what is wrong, since the hard drive was zeroed, technically it is just like a brand new drive, therefore it should boot the new HD evox disc just like it did when i first installed the drive

im debating wether to try my friends new drive or not, so im looking for a few more suggestions before i try
