Have you ever realized that programs such as FlashFxp aren't free? There are shareware versions that are free, but only last for about 30 days.
I have discovered that it is possible to connect to your xbox via ftp using only Internet Explorer®.
Because most people already have the program....it would save them about $25 to use this instead
It does not have nearly the features of ftp programs.....but will work for almost everything you could use with the xbox.

First......you need to download/install Evox. There will be no information on this, as that is covered in many other tutorials
After you have it installed (and know which settings to use) open Internet Explorer.
Type in ftp:// first.....then type in the username and password in this format username:password
For most people the username and password would both be xbox.
Then the address should say ftp://xbox:xbox
After you do that, you must type in the ip address of your xbox in the format of @xxx.xxx.x.x

The final address would be ftp://xbox:[email protected]/ (with the appropriate settings) (picture included below)

feel free to edit/copy this tutorial as long as you give credit to me....
I would like to thank: Xbox-scene.com, <banned site>.com, team Evolution X, team Xodus, and the Halo Map Hackers

FlashFxp is a copyrighted by CEDSoft
Internet Explorer is a copyrighted program of the MS Corporation.
Xbox is also copyrighted by MS

There are other tutorials you can use but I like this one.  I found this under tutorials/other tutorials, there you'll find a lot more links about ftping using various methods.

Yeap, I'm pretty sure you can.  Basically (from what I've read in the past) you get your copy of evox, make it an iso, burn it to a cd along with a...100mb-300mb bs file.  By bs I mean some kinda file with a name and extension bbbb.bbb (could be a movie or a game...or a zipped version of your burning program (thats what I did)) pop the cd in, turn your box off then on again and it should work

OH yeah! and make the cd bootable.

Most people on here use nero to burn stuff.

the bs file is because xbox reads from the outside in...so having a file to beef it up will make the xbox's job of reading your cd-rw easier.  There is a tut on here for that too, I'll check it out.

Requirements:

1. WinRAR or WinZIP
2. Nero Burning ROM (Latest Version)
3. Around 500mb of files
4. Latest Version of EvolutionX Dashboard .RAR file

1. Select all of the EvoX files in the RAR file
2. Click the Extract To Button
3. Select where you want to extract it to (preferably a folder)
4. Hit OK

Find some files that are anywhere from 400 mb and above…make sure u leave enough room for the 3mb EvoX!!

Now select the file(s)/folder(s) and right click them…and go to Add “<filename.rar>” It’ll make a rar file of it…you can also make a ZIP file of it if you prefer. Now remember…you can put however many files you would like or any kind of files you want in the rar file…it just takes up more space which is what you want.

Just open up a data cd in Nero. The file circled in red is the rar/zip file…and then just add all of the other EvoX files in the mix…

Now go to File>Write CD…then Click Disc-At-Once and Write

Now you will be able to use EvoX in your Xbox Console using the “dummy file” technique.

Thanks To Xbox-Scene, Team EvoX, and M$

My bad man, the pictures didn't show up (duh)

check under tutorials/evolutionx and you should be fine, there are a bunch.  Also some of the basic modding tutorials talk about this procedure.

Its really easy, just put evox, or avalauch on a disk that will boot in your xbox and fire it up.  In evox go to the settings menu and find the ip for your box, it should look like 168.192.0.23 or similar to that.  Then load up an ftp program on your pc, FlashFXP is the best.  Use the ip for your xbox, port 21, and xbox/xbox for the login and password.
