I've tried two batteries.  A brand new one and a slightly used one (someone said to do that in a tutorial).  The printer port is fine.  The error that appears is the error where you're supposed to call M$ and it has all of the different languages.

Right now I'm thinking it may be a problem with the dashboard so I'm making a boot cd.

Also, I was just putting the chip back in to get ready for the boot cd to hopefully flash a new bios to the chip through the dashboard and I realized that both the red and green light are flashing...and neither is that bright.

In the past the red has been really bright or the green has been really bright, now its both in the middle.

Oh yeah, the light glows when the programmer is hooked up.

Anyone know where I can get good cd burning software to do this, mine stinks for some reason.

Also, does it have to be a cd-rw or will a regular cd-r do the job for the boot disc.

for the boot disc, you'll have to see what works in your box.  regular maxtor cd-r's work for my xbox, but maybe you will have to use dvd-r on yours? you'll have to try different media to see what you xbox likes.
