Matrix Problems
« on: March 31, 2004, 05:10:00 AM »

I installed an old matrix I had laying around on my friend's xbox. It worked fine, but he brought back cuz he wanted me to change the dip setting to mode 3 so he could play live. Did that and it worked fine. When he came to pick it up the fucking chip decided to act up and the xbox just boots ot the original tsop. I reflashed it, aligned it like ten times but the damn thing doesnt work. The led is green when booting but nothing happens.

I saw a few post that showed ways to solder it to the mobo, and the bolt mod.
My question is, is there anyway I could test it to see if the chip is not damaged so I dont waste my time doing any soldering or bolting?

Also the XP programmer recognizes the chip as Matrix, so I guess is not damaged.
I could be wrong.

Should I just solder the D0 point to the back side of the mobo?

I just soldered a wire to the backside d0 point and I cut off the pogo pin and it works fine, also I had to install an external switch cuz mode three didn't work,

So everything is fine.
