I Broke My Old Xbox, Have New One, Question
« on: March 25, 2004, 04:07:00 PM »

Hi all,
I recently broke my xbox, I have a Xodus/Matrix chip and I have always had problems with the pogo pins staying firmly connected.  Well I finially broke my xbox when I "scrached" off a few of the diodes and resistors near where the chip goes on.
Anyway I have bought a new/used xbox off e-bay (I don't know the version yet).  And I can't remember if I need to do anything to my 80 gig harddrive (from broken xbox) other then put it in?  Can I just do a simple swap?  Do I need to do anything to the modchip?  Also should I look to update my modchip?  It works just fine, but if you all think a newer one is worth it the trouble let me know.

Any help would be great.  Thanks

I would flash it with the latest executer bios and then try a hot swap - it cant hurt to just do a swap.
