Sounds like it is working right unless you have actually installed evolution x as a dashboard on the hdd, have you tried putting in a non signed code disc to see if it reads it, anything like the enigma video region disc etc. if it does, it works

ofx210p is right.Sounds like all is well all ya need is a dashboard and your good to go.
