Matrix Flashing Problems, Cannot Use Programmer...
« on: March 12, 2004, 06:54:00 PM »

ok, if you cant get it to recognize the chip, ever, then try another motherboard. If youre using an AMD, get away from it and look for a genuine pentium (or maybe celeron)

on some motherboards, you need to squeeze the chip onto the programmer fairly tightly to get a good connection. if you continue to get errors while trying to flash, then you're going to need to squeeze while flashing as well.  If you cant even get the chip to be recognized, try a fresh new 9 volt alkalyne battery in ur programmer.

in most cases, I found it was just the motherboards I was trying on were picky.

It might be the programmer, mine just crapped out on me yesterday.  I have been using to flash chameleons, and it just stopped recognising chips.  I thought I fried the chips but they still booted to cromwell in the xbox.

What you could do, is flash it in your xbox.  Boot up with your matrix, swap chips and flash the other one.  I wouldn't recommend it, but if youre carful it should work.

EDIT:
Try the newer flashing software as well,  I had a bitch of a time with win LPC.

Get  Xodus Programmer v0.13 from the xodus-chip.com download section.  It should work.

i can't get my computer to detect my chameleon with the programmer either... i just got the programmer a few days ago and tried it using a brand new 9v duracell ultra. i noticed that when i took the programmer out of the package a small black transistor looking piece fell out of the serial connector on the programmer. was this supposed to be there?
