Yeah it sounds to me like your dash isnt loading either

You have to FTP into the xbox and get an older version of the msxboxdash.xbe from xbins if you want to replace your dash.

..............But I dont think that will help

Check xbox-scene.com/tutorials for info on FTP and dash help
