lol i have the same problem, and id class myself as quite advanced in terms of xbox knowledge.  I have tried all sorts of things and i figure the mcpx has burnt out because even after 30s of running it gets so hot it sclads you to touch it.  I tried a heatsink with no luck there so am just going to get it replaced - its out of warranty so there arent any scams to be had tongue.gif

I have an Xbox which does the same thing: wont boot up with or without ANY chip.  The LPC voltages look fine.  The owner says his working Matrix started fragging all of a sudden, and when he removed it, the Xbox still frags.

Is this (destroying Xboxes) a common problem with Matri(x/c)es?

I have the same da** problem. Had a matrix for about a year. Now xbox frag with or without modchip. I tried lot of things, 2 differents modchip didnt work. I tested d0 and lpc, everything is good, i have all good voltage on LPC, except RST pin that i have 0.19v instead of 3.3v, but this is not the problem because the xobx doesnt boot even with no lpc modchip. So i would really appreciate to find out whats the problem.
Doesnt seem to be mcpx, because i let the xbox ON for about 10 minutes and i touched mcx and wasnt hot.
But maybe its an heating issue, dont know, please if anyone find out what is the problem, let us know, lot of people have this problem.

Good luck everyone and hope we'll find out.

Ok,

Here is the deal, I dont think that RST pin is our problem here, because xbox doesnt boot even with no modchip, and LPC points are use to boot only when D0 is grounded.
My hope are not really high also, I'm begining to think that mobo is dead for good.
But I will still try to trouble shoot it. If i have time today or tomorrow, I try to reflash eeprom, we dont know. Someone told me that he fixed some similar problem as this one, and it was the eeprom or tsop, maybe our tsop got f**ked even if we didnt tr to flash it. Dont know why, but he told me that the only modchip that worked to fix (bypass) tsop was the aladin, I won't buy an aladin to try it, but if someone has one, maybe you could try this.

Anyway, Hope to find something, we are a lot of people having this same exact problem. I'll let you know how it goes on my side.

good luck everyone  ph34r.gif

I tried to reflash eeprom. nothing. But without modchip i got the xbox flashing green only, dont know why, but it did this couple of time.

anyway, it didnt fix my problem, so now im really thinkinh that mobo is fried and gone forever.

I get similar problem here ( http://forums.xbox-s...owtopic=183289)

I have a aladin MOD , still no good , so ............

Also check my post above , weird enough is that my Xbox came back to live once , after I re-flash bios to flash rom on MOD . But I think this is not how I fixed it , cause when it died again  sad.gif  , the same trick ( re-flash ) didnot work , also verify the bios in flash rom is not corrupt .
