Chameleon - Matrix Bios Flashing
« on: February 28, 2004, 11:36:00 PM »

Ok, I didn't realize I had to copy it to the C/Bios folder.
I did, and it apparently flashed the bios in, but when I rebooted the box, the "Xbox Cromwell 2.27 dev (Easybuy2000 Edition)" screen came up and asked me for a CD. I inserted again and said it flashed the bios and shut down the box. I booted it up and the same thing happened.

Anyone know what is going on? The menu has 2 items:

- dev/hdb
- BIOS

First one says "Waiting for drive", the second one I dont know what it does.

Please help! Thanks!

my suggestion would be to get a programmer and flash it through your computer - then put in slayers auto installer - but if it is showing up with the cromwell bios it is waiting for you to put in a disk to load evox - my suggestion would be to flash it with the latest bios 4981 and then put in slayers auto installer disk.

good luck.

what version xbox is it?

i'll try to boot with slayer's.
I don't know what version it is, but it is like 1.1 or something. I bought it in October 2002.

This is actually a pretty common problem.  You mentioned that you changed the dip to boot from anothre bank.  Flashing with the cromwell will always flash the first bank.  So you are essentially continously flashing bank 1 and booting from bank 2.  Switch your dips back to boot from bank 1 and you will be all set.
