Failed Chameleon Install

I've just been told the chip I have is preflashed with the m7 or X24978 bios.  I tried booting the slayer's installer disc and it started to load (the MS logo showed up under the Xbox splash screen) but then said the disc could not be recognized.  The disc worked on a different modded xbox I have.

what version xbox do you have?
