Is it possible to remove the solder from the LPC pads and solder it from the back then solder the D0 from the back of the mobo? Im sick and tired of the Matrix unalligning.

Great topic you linked me to nsfdheo. But i have another question. Which gauge of wire should i use for it or does it even matter? Any suggestions on the tip i should use to solder? Most likely i need a magnifing glass to solder the d0 point right? Is the d0 point on the back easy to solder? Thanks in advance

Some lessons I learned from my experience were V1.0 solder filled lpc holes

1. I bought a small roll of "bell wire" 24 gauge (I think) from the hardware store. Heated up the a filled hole for about 30 seconds then placed the wire on the iron for 15 seconds while still holding the soldering iron on the solder hole. Then quicky remove iron and the wire slipped right in. Hold in place 5 sec.

2. I had a bear of a time with soldering the DO. Found a guide to soldering the alternate DO ( back side of the board ) alot easier I must say.

3. Used solid wire for holes and thinner braided wire for alternate DO solder point.

Hope this helped. Glad I did this, boots every time no problems anymore.

I used a magnified glass and a low watt soldering iron (smaller tip the better) from radio shack $15.00 total. For the d0 wire back side is alot easier if like me you have no experience soldering. I used a thin wire from a hard drive ribbon and removed one wire and soldered it on the back D0.

This is the best move I ever made still no problems.

Great information you guys. So should i solder from the pogo pin points to the LPC solder or should i solder from the top of the Matrix chip (on top of the pogo pins where its a yellow circle)? Then solder from the top of the Pogo pins where the d0 pin suppose to connect to the d0? Do everything from the top of the matrix chip or everything from the bottom? Is there a picture to show me where the alternate d0 point is?

ok i soldered it and now its still the same. Its still fragging like normal with 3x boot and red and green flash after the third boot. Could it be because of the traces that are lifted around the original d0 point?

The 3x reboot thing is usually because the d0 points connected right, but the LPC holes arent...if your using a v1.1 Xbox, make sure to fill the LPC holes with solder, worked for me.

im using a 1.0 and every LPC holes are all in tack. Theres solder on each hole and covering it. The d0 point is connected properly. And its still fragging after like 20 trys to resolder. This is driving me nuts. What could possibly be wrong?

Unfortunately if everything else is in order, that is probably it
