There is an externl programmer for the chip.  I dont know if you can still buy a real one though.

look in the buy/sell/trade and search for programmer - there was a guy selling them for 9 and another for 3 i dont know if they have them anymore but its worth a shot.  also Easybuy2k has them i believe

good luck.  You can also try and flash it with a cd and dummy file.
