Ive got hold of an ohmmeter for the next few days and have started looking at the xbox motherboard. Basically im wondering what tips you guys have on checking traces for short circuits etc. a step by step guide on what to do first etc. Can any component get damaged by a voltage across it (my voltmeter told me the ammeter was feeding 0.5 volts accross the pins).
Anybody with an xbox that is open or willing to open it? There are 3 resistors right next to the lpc pins (on the side nearest the edge of the motherboard). Can anyone take a closer look at what they are connected to please? Should they connect to the via's on either end of the resistors or do they have pads underneath that they should connect to. Also can anybody give me a reading for their resistance please? I got them to have a very high resistance or else none, not sure if something is wrong here...
