Matrix Chip Problems
« on: January 30, 2004, 09:47:00 PM »

I have also had my Matrix chip installed for about 1 1/2 years.  I figured it was about time to upgrade my hdd.  I have a 1.1 box, I tried to flash bio with slayers which only supported 1.2 + 137 HDD support.  Didn't work for my 1.1 so I removed chip and installed X2 4981.06 using FlashPack and Parrallel programmer, installed a driver, as no other program would work for me.  Now, I can't seem to align my matrix chip, I don't know what could have happened, since it was working perfectly before I removed it.  It almost looks like the DO point is discolored?  Slight brown coloration, ???????      Can anyone suggest any options I might want to consider?  I have cleaned all of my contact points with Alcohol, still only flashes red in test mode.  Sucks cause I just got a 200 GB HDD, and now I can't even use my previously installed 120GB.  Can I solder, maybe upgrade chips?, flash TSOP?  I don't know what to do, life without the xbox sucks................

I took off the washer/place holder that came with the matrix.  It instantly went green.  But I was getting an error 16 so I reflashed to the original bios that was intended for the matrix, something like  Evolutionv2.5 256k.bin......    aligned the chip and I was back in business.  Flashed to 4977*C* and put in a 200 GB harddrive and formatted using Slayers.  Now, my question is how do I Transfer files with only one xbox from my old 120Gb to my new 200 GB?  I tried to use FatBox 1.4 and put the hdd in a pc, but it wouldn't recognize the partitions on the drive.  It also said to put the xbox drive on master and the pc drive on slave????   does this make any sense??  Any other ways to do this with only one modded box??
