Try changing your LPT (parallel port) settings in the bios of your PC to EPP or ECP

If still doesnt work try changing the delay settings

Lastly try a different PC

Mine works great on a laptop running win2k

hope this helps

Your problem might be in the chip,I just got a programmer
the other day and it worked fine the first time but if cannot detect anything its either a bad chip or bad programmer,I also had this problem when I bought the matrix had a shitty chip and programmer,Well all I can say what ever chip you do have try a hotswap with one of your buddies so you can get your  chip flashed

Use M-PROG when using the external programmer to flash the Chameleon.

This is how to program the Chip.

1. Make sure on the Chameleon chip the dip switches are set to default (all off)

2. Always use a fresh battery or a battery that is slightly used.

3. Put the programmer male pin header pin the female part of the Chameleons chip that says "M-PROG"

4. Now put both chip and programmer in the LPT port of your PC (make sure the LPT port is enabled in your computer bios)

5. Start the XP software and then click on module scan. You should see a flickering led either red or blue depending on what chip you have.

6. Now click on module read after a few seconds of reading click on module cancel and close the pop up box that appears. (click ok)

7. Now click on module load bios and select your "proper bios" of choice it should be 256k in size.

8. Now click on module write it will begin the write process it will take at least 10 minutes to complete.

9. While it writes to the chip it was also verify. If you get verify "OK" on all 4 banks then your good is GOOD.

Install in Xbox and you’re done.

If you get errors and can't program your chip try another PC if there errors are still there RMA the chip back for an exchange.
