Cant Switch To Tsop Any Longer
« on: January 25, 2004, 03:05:00 PM »

Ok there is a little story.

First, I must apologize if this topic has been discussed before... but the search has been disabled.

Ok here we go. I have a 1.0 chameleon. At first I installed it with the pin header configuration, in mode 4 with E and P connexion. It worked well, except that once in a while, the chamelon refused to swith on. With some experiment, I reach the conclusion that I had some bad solder point.

Therefore, I removed the pin header and switch to the quick solder installation. Now it works well... but I have the opposite, I cant disable the chip (it used to work fine previously)! Either using the E button or using the evox switch to TSOP command in EvolutionX. When I try to disable the switch, the chameleon still boot on bank 1.

I even set the chameleon on mode 1, but I cant disable the modchip in that configuration either.

I dont really complain about this. I dont use Xbox live right now. But I may... So I'd like to understand what's wrong. I see two options
- Once again, I did a bad solder point.
- Worse, I destroyed something on the board (or the modchip) while soldering.

My last question is: If I can't boot on the TSOP any longer, I may load the original bios on one bank and boot on it. Will this be ok with Xbox live ? Wont I get banned ?

And about the original bios, is there more than one version (I guess there are many) ? I have a 1.0 box, which genuine bios do I need ?

Thanks for your help !
