you have a thomson drive

try DVD-RW with a Dummy of near 1Gb

If it not work, you will need a programer, or try to hardware mod your Thomson drive (look in the tutorial section here)

BTW, I also changed the HD while i put the chip in, with a new WD 120Gig. I havent formatted it yet, just took it out of the box and put it in at same time as chip. Could that be causeing it?

this is the problem.
the HD is empty. no Dashboard are there

use Slayer CD to built it and you will be up & running

I have the slayers auto.... can i burn it to CD-RW or do i have to use DVDR?

Does CD-RW worked for the bios ?

if not then don't, then don't use CD-RW ! It didn't worked beofre, it wont work few hours later

if it worked for the bios, then yes.. use the same media

error 16 means you have no dashboard...and its not the bios that it working fine...this happened to me before...

re-do the solderless adaptor first...and just launch a cd with a dashboard on it...you are obviosuly burning wrong or something

if you still have the retail HD, I would put it back to be sure everything is fine..

once you know everything work, change the HD and reinstall with Slayer.

If you put the Slayer CD in your computer, you shouldn't see any file on it (Windows may tell you there is no disk at all) if so, the copy is burned fine (it's xiso format, Windows can't read that)

once you know all that, then it come to only one problem: media type

Got it booting up with slayers now. Just took the HD out and put it back in and it works now....  Anyways, now when i try the Rebuild new HD option with the slayers CD, it says done in like 2 secs, and the drive doesnt format, or anything get installed. When i try the install apps option, it says installing, and then after 5 secs it says done. If i power off/on my xbox after that, it goes back to error 13 (no dashboard).

At the slayers main screen it reads   C:524.189.696    E:0     F:0     G:0

Any ideas?

BTW it is a WD 120 gig SE 8MB Cache.
