just burn one of them onto the disc...no need to burn both...

4981.06 is just ur regular bios
4981.67_256.bin is G drive enabled which means you can put over 137 gb on ur g drive...

so im thinking u probably just want to burn the regular 4981.06

Vric If you are going to be an asshole do not bother replying to my posts. If anyone else could help then I welcome it. So far I have created a dummy file named AAAAAA.AAA and renamed the 4981.06 bin to LINUXBIOS.BIN. I created a ISO out of both of these files with NTI cd creator pro, burned it and inserted it into xbox came up unable to load, hacking, although Hacking was kind of unreadable not sure if that was the word. The chip is installed ok and Cromwell bios is running. Any Ideas from people who want to help?

Sounds like you are doing everything right.  Have you tried using different media?  CD-R,CD-RW,DVD-R?  Also, make sure it is an ISO 9660 Mode 1 with Joliet off.  Also, no need to create an ISO image.  Just put the files on a disk and burn.  Good Luck.

It shouldn't matter, but since the tuttorial references Nero,
I would use that.

Yea it is named LINUXBIO.BIN must missed typed in post. How about the dip switches, I have read the user manual and the guides online and cannot figure out where the switches should be set to. They are all off as it was sent to me. I tried one walk through that stated to turn on 3 & 4 but the Xbox would not power up correctly and there was no LED light. SO I switched them back to off and the Cromwell Bios came up. How about the Dummy file do you still need that with latest version of Chameleon?

Yes, keep all the DIP switches set to off, for now.  And follow the tutorial to the letter, dummy file and all.

Ok thanks the dip switch thing was frustrating. So I will leave them off. Now I have followed the Tuturial over and over again. Couple of questions about it though. I downloaded the lates version of X2 bin. Is that possibly messing things up should I use the exact one he is in that tutorial (older version I guess)? Second is I am using Nero Burning at 4X speed on a Memorex CDRW (Memorex was what he used). I am sure the settings are all set in nero as I just checked with his tutorial and matched up. The only thing is the closed session. Is there a hidden setting in nero for that or does it close the session automatically. Should I try and burn it at 1X? I read somewhere else in another tutorial that 4X was the speed. I have just checked Nero program and Closed CD is checked by default so session is closed.

The new BIOS will be fine.  1X would be better, but probably won't make that much different from 4X.  Please post your results and good luck.

wrong. they both support lba 48 aka 137+ gig. the 06 is if you are using a new hd. the 67 is to extend a current drive.

also what dash are you using? if you have evox, ftp into the xbox. go to c drive, see if a folder named bios is there. if not make it. now put your bios in there. now go to the evox ini file, and find this

[BIOS]

the part in the quotes under rom is the bios name, the long stirn of #'s is the hash you get from xboxtool. add this to the file for the new bios.

now reboot evox w/the dip switches set to flash mode, go to flash bios and your new bios should be in there. select it, it will now say press Y to flash, do it and make sure you dont lose power.....it will erash, reflash and turn off.now put you chip back to normal dip switches and turn on....done

btw-id ftp back in and erash the bios folder so no chance of bad flash.
