If you connect the E and P points to the Eject and Power lines on the wiring harness. You have the ability to start up to the xbox WITHOUT powering up the chip, simply by turning it on by holding the eject button in for 3 seconds.

The only other thing you must do is flick the dip switches on the chameleon on to mode four (first two dip switches down)

It will work perfectly without the P and E wires connected though the only way to disable it  then is via evox etc. This is just a convenience thing.
