If I can't get this to work, I am screwed. Let me tell you a little bit about it.

I have the Solderless Adaptor. For kicks, my friend came over and soldered in the no solder bit (just for precaution sake).

Today, I went to solder my P&E (For stealth mode) and when I got it all done and ready I turned it on and it went to that "Contact MS for Service" stuff. So, I am thinking I am screwed, and I look by my chip, and it came out of the d0, breaking through the soldering.

So, I plugged it back in and it more or less worked. I brought it home, plugged it in, turned it on, and the same thing. So, I opened up my xbox again, and it's the adapter is right in the d0 and everything is fine. I check all the connections, and everything and it's good.

I think I ruined the d0.

Let me tell you why.

I plugged in the original XBOX HDD, and it worked just like an unmodded XBOX.

So, the mod chip isn't connecting to the d0 properly.

Should I try to solder it again?

Any help at ALL would be much appreciated.

what is the error code you have ?

It reads (in myriad of languages) "You r Xbox requires Service. Please call Xbox ustomer Support"

It also has a big '05' in the upper left corner.

Error 05:

kernel HDD not locked (retail bioses require the hd to be locked)

you try to boot without the modchip, and the HD isn't locked so retail Dashboard gives error

lock your hardrive with EvolutionX or ConfigMagic and it will solve your problem (use slayer cd if you didn't have EvolutionX yet)

Can I do that from my PC?

Because my Slayers disc or My eveloutionX disc isn't working in my xbox.

better go on the hardware forum

btw, your chip doesn't look activate.. did you removed, desactivated it it or it's fried ?

if you didn't removed it, then it's a D0 problem, take a look at it and if you have problem, search for alternate D0. you can also try to ground the D0 (just put a wire from the solderless D0 to the screw.)

try grounding the D0 connection of the solderless adapter

Alright, didn't work. Still getting the same error message...

FIXED!

Just messing around I tried to resolder the solderless jumper from the adapter back into the d0 point and it worked!
