OK so I tried it again with the pin headers still in the Chameleon and the same thing happened.

When I look at the official manual for installing the solderless adapter it doesn't look like there are pin headers on the chip when they slide it on.

you talk about the black protection plastic ?
if so remove it.

what is the color of your modchip ? is it blue ? if so, be sure all the dipswitch are OFF. lastest chameleon are shipped with all on and won't work unless you switch them back off

if it's still doesn't work, then your chip is unflashed and you will need a programer to get it working.

I would send it back as for a refound and buy a Xenium fron an other store.

but it will probably take few weeks before you get a RMA then a few others weeks to get a new chips from eb2k. don't expect having a good chip back before over a month.

do you have digicam ? would like to have picture of what you call "pinheader" and how your install look like, it could help

if the Chameleon isn't flashed (like a lot of eb2k Chameleon, even if they say they are tested blablabla) you will need a programer or someone with an other xbox that have a working chameleon in it
