Use FTP to ftp it to the bios folder of your xbox (assuming you have one, make one if you havent) and flash the chip from evox

In fact if using evox, flash a different bank to  the one you are presently booting from then if it goes horribly wrong the you know that your 4977 is still there

Hope this helps

If you need more help just PM/email

Cheers

I'm having trouble with this too.  I've searched and searched, but can not seem to get this to work.  I've put a folder in C and put the 4980 bin in there.  Is there something special I need to do from EvoX?  When I go to the flash option I see a few different bins, but not the one I put on the C drive--M7, 4977 and some others, but not 4980.

Sorry if this seems simple to you guys... but I can not figure out how to get this accomplished.

are you sure the file is named "4980.bin" and not "4980 bin", without the quotes of course

yes.  there is a .bin extension behind the file name.  when i load evox and try to use the flash utility, the bin file doesn't show up.  there are a bunch of options like 7-1, 7-2, 7-3... and all have BIOS file names like M7, 4997, etc.  it doesn't matter what i put under C:Bios

is it easy to flash the chameleon with a cd-rw?

hi..

done the following - made a folder on C called bios - placed new `4980.bin` bios in folder - Now what - im sorry but i can not find any help on what to do next - is there some software that needs to flash the bios coz no one is saying any thing - and ive checked my EvoX and there`s nothing there [unless my eyesight is going], it might help if someone knows what to do, writes a tutorial showing how......just a thought

hi..

Right for some reason there is no option in my EvoX 3921 for flashing bios - so i updated to 3935 - then used the `flash bios` option in the new dash - the strangest thing the evox i had before came from `slayers install` and a friend of mone thought it was very strange that there was no `flash bios` option in EvoX 3921 - so everything is sorted now - so anyone having the same problem - my advice is to update you EvoX to 3935 [do that by ftp`ing the evox.ini and the xboxdash.xbe from new evox over your old ones] then re-boot xbox, make sure you have put your new bios in the C:bios  folder - rename it to 4980.bin [if using new 4980 bios] then go to flash bios in system utils in EvoX and follow the instructions - now why could you ppl not just spend 5 minutes writing this out to help other i will never know

well its here now...hope this helps those that need it
