What Is All This Problem With The No-solder Matrix
« on: January 08, 2004, 07:45:00 PM »

I have heard all this frag red/green light matrix and realignment to get it fix... why is that?

is it becuase it only works on version 1.0/1.1/1.2 and all of those version has the LPC holes all filled up with solder so the alignment isn't stable as the rivets hole pins?

I saw almost everyone who has a matrix modchips wanted to flash their tsop...

I had a matrix and switched to a TSOP flash, just to see if I could do it.  The matrix went into another box.  Alot of people have a problem with the matrix coming  out of alignment, thats probably the most common reason.  Mine never came out of alignment once, and it tossed it in a backpack to play halo at a buddies house one a week.  It even make a 4000km road trip in the trunk of my car and a flight in a suitcase without coming out of alignment.

Just wondering if you have to deolder those LPC points when using a no solder Matrix? The installation instructions doesn't say you do so I'm just making sure.

NO NO NO !

never desilder the LPC hole except if you want to make a pinheader installation

do a search.. it's even on a pinned thread here
