Flashing Red Chameleon?
« on: January 06, 2004, 10:25:00 AM »

QUOTE (alocaco @ Jan 6 2004, 08:11 PM)
I am trying to install a new chameleon chip in a friend's xbox and instead of getting a blue flashing led, im getting a red flashing led from the chameleon. Does this mean the same as when the older chameleon would flash blue or did i do something wrong? Also the DVD tray DOES automatically eject itself. One other thing, the dips on the chip came default as they looked like they were all on instead of off, so i flipped all the dips the other way. I assume they started shipping the dips the other way now? Cause with all the dips on it just fragged the box. Anyways, Thanks for any help in advance with this question.

you got a eb2k chip (red led)

the dvd should eject itselft if you are lucky enugh to have a working eb2k chameleon. put a cd-rw /dvd/rw with the bios you want and it might work.

Dipswitch should be at off

Correct after installing the chip if you have a version 1.3 or below you will get video output. If you have version 1.4/1.5 (focus based Xbox) then no video output on your TV but will still be able to flash chip.

After you power on the Xbox wait 40 sec then tray will eject and you can put you boot up disk. Wait till Xbox power's off by itself.

If you used a “proper bios" colored one is recommended then you should see the colored logo when you start your Xbox.

Install your dash and enjoy.......
