if your xbox don't "see" the modchip, that mean you have a problem with your D0. check it back, clean it and retry.

it might have been preflashed - have you tried running unsigned code?

Mine does this as well.  If I manually ground D0, the box frags.

Grounding D0 enables the BIOS on the LPC bus.  This is the Chameleon we are trying to use.  The Chameleon grounds the D0 for us when it is working.  If you place a wire or jumper wire from the D0 point on the Chameleon or the point on the board to ground like a screw.  That should manually enable the point.  This just makes sure your D0 point is not the problem.

So it seems that I can be 100% sure that the d0 is the problem, since it's booting into the normal dash. Wouldn't it frag, if the d0 was grounded, and the chameleon wasn't there?

If your Chameleon is attached and your D0 connection is not good, then it will boot the normal BIOS.  If you ground D0 it should boot the BIOS on the Chameleon.  Assuming that the BIOS on the Chameleon is good and there are no other problems.

Mine box boots up like there is no Chameleon attached.  But when I ground the D0 manually the box frags.  This tells me that there is another problem with the chip.  For whatever reason it isn't engaging and grounding D0 for me.  Why is what I am trying to figure out.  What else could be the problem?

And to answer you question, I think it would frag if you grounded D0 and there was no mod chip.

QUOTE (a94cobra @ Jan 1 2004, 01:21 AM)
If you ground D0 it should boot the BIOS on the Chameleon.

and if bios isn't good, it should at last frag or reboot 2 time

your problem is really strange.. don't know if JD could help on this one

So that means the only thing I have left to do is to ground d0, using means other than the adapters gold wire.

yup try this, if it boot, then your D0 isn't good
else you are in trouble  wink.gif  laugh.gif

I almost have the same problem as you guys..... but when i first installed my chip the cromwell BIOS worked fine, but after flashing the chip, the system boots as if there was no chip on the system at all...... I am thinking that this may be becuase I put the wrong BIOS on my chip, so I might just order a programmer to reflash it

It's working properly.  After you flash with a new BIOS, until you replace your MS dashboard with another dashboard (UnleashX, EvoX, MXM, or whatever), then your Xbox will boot to the MS dashboard and will behave exactly like an unmodded Xbox.  The only difference is that it will now be able to boot backups and installer discs.

but I heard that when you turn on the system, under the X it should say Xecuter instead of MS..... mine still says MS...... and when I put in a CDRW with Slayers on it, it prompts as if the system can only read xbox games, cds, and dvds only....... I have a v1.0 xbox with the thompson dvd player, is my problem my media isnt being read by my drive or did I not flash the chip correctly??? My only assumption could be that I flashed a Xecuter BIOS for a v1.1 xbox on accident instead of a v1.0 BIOS...... would that make my chip not work right??
