Please Help....is It Working Or Not?
« on: December 31, 2003, 08:25:00 AM »

I just installed my Chameleon yesterday and I had a similiar problem. It would start up and flash red for a second then nothing. I just tried all the different types of ways I could connect it with the pogo pins and eventually found the right way. Really check every single way, because there are two rows of connectors that could connect to the pogo pins. I think there is about 5 or 6 diff ways you could hook them up and only 1 is correct so just take your time and figure it out, you will eventually get it. Once I had mine hooked up it went to the main screen that said I had Chromewell Linux BIOS Version 227 then the disc tray opened and I waited exactly 2 minutes, inserted my BIOS disc with Xecuter2 version 4979 although I hear to disable the chip to go online you need Xecuter2 Version 4976.02. But it succesfully flashed it and booted up with the XBOX LOGO and then had the Xecuter2 logo beneath it, so it was succesfull for me. As with the red light. I hear that you are also supposed to see a blinking blue light while flashing the BIOS but I had a redlight the whole time and my chip works. I think they might have changed the color and didn't really tell anyone about it. Hope this helps man.

There were two different banks off pogo connectors on my chip. They were both the same size or similiar, I mean you could have had the chip facing away from the small black adaptor and D0 wire or towards it, to the right or to the left. Stuff like that. As for me I never got a conitnous red ligth only a flashing red light. Go online to easybuy2000 they have install pictures to show you what its supposed to look light when connected correctly.
