well if you have a 1.5 you will need to solder in a ground wire I believe. But if you have a 1.4 something i would try is even though it has the red light try booting it if you think it is making proper contact. I say this because with my 1.0 if my xbox is cold it will say it isnt alligned but will still boot fine, it just wont boot with chip off until it xbox warms up. Hope it helps...

ok, so say I have to solder,  can someone give me the correct steps of the process i need to take.   I have read so many different things on what to do I want to make sure i get it right.  I know you get some kind of wire, I dont know what type, and you connect one end to the screw socket hole and the other to some pin hole.  Can someone please clarify this for me???   Thanks
