yes your correct. If you look at the modchips comparison charts you will see that version 1.0 chameleons dont work with xbox's 1.4 and up.

Not sure why... but its a definite no in red.

Actually they don't work with the 1.3's either.  That is why Chameleon 1.3 was initially released.
