My suggestion: ask a friend with a modded(tsop flash) xbox to reflash your chip.  Use ozx flash smile.gif

I'm confused.  blink.gif  If you have a working bios on your chip, why not just install evox using the old bios and then flash it with the new one?

Ok change jumper settings to boot from bank four and use the cd metyhod to reflash,Unless
you flashed a 1mb bios but I don't think so just take the chameleon out and set to boot from bank four and then boot you should get the chromwell screen then make a bios cd then reflash also use the standard av cables

QUOTE
I tried loading it on every bank, and still, nothing.

I only put the bios is the first bank, though.

What does that mean?  Cromwell should be on the other banks.

i dont think its a problem with the bios i think the problem lies with the lpc points. you xbox should boot up fine if you flashed it with x2 4977 (thats one that i use).

im in the same boat man, i just got my chip and just tried to flash it with my pc, i started to flash it twice then i got errors half way through, i tried on both bank 1 and 2 and now i cant read or reflash the chip through my computer and i dont know what to do, im wondering if cromwell will still be on banks 3 and 4 as i didnt ever switch those modes on or try to write to them

i could try that IF i knew where to plugin that curved little wire coming off the chip, i dont know which little hole to stick it in on the motherboard

another thing though, when i was searching through these forums someone mentioned something about hot swapping the modchip in someone else's system while it's on and then flashing the corrupt chip through evox on that xbox, but now i cant find that thread again, anyone know anything about this method??

thanks for your time

i never done it but once evox is loaded just take out the good chameleon and put in the bad one and then flash. since they should have the same chip on them there shouldn't be any problems.

you can flash it using slayers autoinstaller or pretty much any boot disk you just have to make sure that the boot disk contains the bios you wish to flash the chameleon with.

ive got an xbox with the matrix chip, can i turn the matrix chipped xbox on, remove the modchip while it's on, then put the chameleon in and flash from within evox, or would that be a problem since the chips are different?

i used that to hot swap a bad hdd and format it through slayers auto installer. and i KNOW it has the option to flash the mod chip or tsop. i would also make sure that the the boot disk has the right flash lines in the ini file amd..... something. in the evox.ini  thread it has the exeact codes you need.

using matrix to do it won't work because the chips are different.

here is the flash codes for the chameleon

Flash = 0x015b,"AMD - Am29LV800B",0x100000
Flash = 0x01da,"AMD - Am29LV800B",0x100000

that curved wire should be the one going to the adapter pin, and yes it goes on the D0 point

pontfirebird, i dont have slayer's anywhere on my HD but i do have digital chimp's. are the lines i have to add to evox.ini the same?

which point is the d0 point?

is it the one point that's practically all alone in the middle of all those longer traces(lines) on the motherboard?

so basically one u put the adapter on the mobo and screw it down, the wire goes almost exactly where it is without bending of turning the wire? u leave the wire straight the way it is, and plug it in?

or am i completly wrong?

Item "Switch To Bank 2",ID_Chameleon_Bank_2,ID_Full_Reboot
Item "Switch To Bank 3",ID_Chameleon_Bank_3,ID_Full_Reboot
Line "-=* *=-"
Item "Flash Bank 0",ID_Chameleon_Bank_0,ID_Flash_Bios
