Did you follow the instructions EXACTLY?
Did you burn it on a CD-RW? At a low speed?
If you got this far with the chip, odds are that it's something you may be overlooking. Just go over the instructions again carefully and make sure.

The only way I could get my chameleon to flash was with a DVD-R, try to track somebody down with a DVD writer...

JD, I read your guide, but it seems with EB2000 chips i've had to put in the Disc BEFORE it says "waiting for disc"

You need to put in the Disc when the big icons at the bottom of the screen appear, but before the icon of the chip lights up... works for me 100% of the time with EB2000 chips...

I dunno why EB2000 chips are diffrent in the fact, they just are.

Is this with the newer Cromwell?  My guide is incorrect for use with 2.27.  You have to hit the A button to eject the DVD drive, and then press A again to get it to close with the newer Cromwell (including the version I shipped to everyone).

Otherwise all else should be the same.

Well i'll tell you how i flashed my cham with cromwell 2.27 on a 1.0 box.

Use Memorex Cd-rws
if you're using xp, get the bios, and rename it linuxbio (do not put bin at the end because xp already does this).
Make a new folder named dummy
inside dummy, put some movies, music, anything that takes up a lot of space, try to get it to be about 100 MB in size.
Open Nero (I dunno bout other burning software, but this is what i used and it works)
When the wizard comes up, click on CD-ROM Iso.
Go to your chameleon manual from the xodus website and modify nero's settings according to the manual.
When u have modified the settings, click new and you should get your file browsers.
Drag the bios to the ROOT
Drag the Dummy file to the ROOT
Now just hit burn cd and make the speed to a low setting (4x usually)
Burn it.
power up ur box.
wait till the drive opens and put the disc in
close the drive.
The rest is history (hopefully)
Follow JD's guide from then on.
Good Luck

I have done everything right.  I have a samsung so i know i am doing it right.  I have flashed these before.  I was in a forum with a guy saying he has the same problems, and TEAMXODUS says to return the chip, but I cant return now with the xodus/easybuy thing.  Are there any suppliers around that will swap me??

If you bought the chip from us and have a order number you can return it for a exchange.
