I just bought the holiday bundle, and I used a website to figure out that is a v1.3! But all i see here is that they are 1.5's?
My build date 2003/07/23. I dont have another unit to preflash my new chameleon on order? What do I do?

You probably have a 1.3 or 1.4.

Has anybody made a tutorial with pics on installing the chameleon + solderless adaptor on a xbox 1.5? which two points do i solder??? ( just bought chameleon + solderless from easybuy) also are rivets needed??

...is there any way to tell what version I have between the v1.4 and v1.5 without the multimeter? (I'm not getting any video with the pre-flashed chameleon installed, so I figured it has to be one of those.)

I do have the modchip installed, and when I turn on the xbox, the blue light just continues to blink. I've tried waiting 60-120 seconds and inserting a bios updater disc (Xecutor 4979) and then waiting another 60 seconds, but nothing happens. I've tried CD-R, DVD-R and CD-RW discs, and I can hear the DVD drive start to churn but nothing ever happens...does this mean I have a v1.5 and that I need to go take some soldering lessons, or could it be some other gremlin standing in my way? Can I force it to update the bios by holding down the power button, etc?

Thanks in advance for any (deparately wanted) advice you can provide->

If you have a blue light...you do NOT have a 1.5. You need to press A to open the DVD drive, insert the CDRW (burned according to my manual, but using 4979 BIOS) and press A again to close the drive. It should work.

FYI: My problem was not that I had a v1.5 xbox, but that I had my XBOX LIVE DONGLE and MEMORY CARD in the controller. I removed them both, restarted my xbox and followed Jon's words to a T and everything is now hunky-dory.

I posted this in another thread, but figured a follow-up in this post might help someone down the line...

I do have one question - why is it that we are having to wait for JD to come up with 'how to' to install the chamelon on 1.5? Why isn't the Xodus team posting pics and such on this? I'm pretty much faced with having to give away my Xbox to fufil a promise since I am currently unable to finish the hack on the 1.5 - but this is NOT JD's reponsibility. This is an Xodus problem.

OK just to clear My mind,So the 1.5 just needs a ground soldered and thats all ? bUt all others work fine with solderless adaptor/?

A ground point is for example the screw for the solderless adapter.

Look at page two of this thread except ignore the 3.3V. It is not needed. All you need for the 1.5 xbox is the ground connected to the LPC or chameloen pin shown on page two.

FYI, I bought a holiday bundle XBox the other day with mfg. date 8/15/2003 and have confirmed that it is a 1.4 XBox.

Just because you recently bought it, doesn't mean that it's a 1.5.
