I think it is pin2 and the ground screw hole ( Normally where you would screw if your using the solderless adaptor.

QUOTE (Kayakman @ Dec 18 2003, 07:11 PM)
Well I can tell that I have a 1.4 or a 1.5 but cant confirm it because I dont have a multimeter. I have a chamelon and one of the above xbox units and I have flashed the chamelon chip with my programmer to the D6 bios but I cant find anywhere on the xbox-scene that shows me which hole is D0? I have done many 1.0 and 1.1 versions but the D0 area on this xbox is way different. I have tried putting the small wire in many of the holes close to where the D0 would have been but the Xbox just frags. If anyone can help me wiht this matter it would be greatly appreciated. My unit is a refurbed box with a manufacture date of Jan 2003

Hi,

you should have a look into the pinheader install manual of your chameleon,
there are pix of the exact D0 location  in both Versions <1.2 >1.2 !

If you have a 1.4 or 1.5 mobo the Bios Version D6
will not work for you you need at least a m7 Version ..

This is because there is a new Chip on the 1.4 and 1.5 Mobo that isn't supported by the D6 Version !

You need to figure out if you have a 1.4 or a 1.5 !

Just in case you have a 1.5 you will need to connect 2 extra wires to the mod chip
otherwise it will not work, because MS disconnected two pins of the LPC Bus

And btw you need at least a Chameleon Version 1.3 the older one will not work in a box
abouve mobo Version 1.1

I think its only one wire. Dont quote me .. But I know if you have a 1.5 box you need to solder pin 2 to the ground hole.

I don't think that the version 1.8 Cromwell chip will work with a 1.5 box

Read down to JD's post about 1.8

Thats true. you have to flash the chip to 2.27 before with an external programmer or get a 1.3 or earlier install on that and flash to the bios that will work - example - M7

I also have problems with chamelon chip on v1.5.
is it just one wire I have to connect between pin2 and ground, or is it one more?

ot: can i program my chamelon chip with the matrix programer?

If I go and buy the bundle pack from a store. All I need to do is solder a wire from the ground to that Lpc point shown in the picture. The chameleon will work like it did on my version 1.0 xbox.

If you have a Chameleon pre-flashed or has 2.27 Cromwell, yes.

Thanks a lot JD. Yea, I have a Chameleon in a v1.0 that I can use to flash before I put it in.
