do you have to boot from evox_matrix_tsop_flash.bin to flash tsop? no other bios will work (like m7 or x2 4979)? i ask this because i have a v1.4 xbox.

so let me get this straight, if i want to do this to a v1.0 box, i will have to use the evox_tsop_flash.bin BIOS, how can i make it support large HD like 250 giggers.

The evox_tsop_flash.bin bios is only used to enable you to flash the TSOP.  You have to use a different bios to actually be put INTO the TSOP.  It is definitely not a good idea to put evox_tsop_flash.bin  into the TSOP  smile.gif

What you want to do is to put evox_tsop_flash.bin  into your matrix or chameleon as discussed before, boot into that and flash the TSOP with a bios of your choice.  <in your case a bios that will support Large HD's>

I have a cham solderless, and am currently working flashing the tsop on an v1.0. I have followed the instructions exactly, and I do quite clearly understand what each step does. I have check all my solder points with my meter, and everything seems to be fine. I have downloaded the evox_tsop_whatever.bin file twice, and just can't seem to get the box to boot into it. I have no problems booting with M7 or any X2 or D6, and the actual flash procedure for the tsop.bin seemingly goes fine every time. Yet still, when I boot from the evox_tsop bank, it FRAGY's......

It sounds as it the 007AUF may be the way to go, esp since I can move the chip from box to box.

However, now I am curious as to why I can't seem to get this to work!

Just an update on my previous post....

using 007 AUF I had no problem flashing the TSOP. So, I know that my connections to open write for the bios were good. I don't know why my the matrix_evox_tsop.bin didn't work, but 007 AUF most definitely did. At the very least (since I don't have a memory card), I can use the chameleon to put the gamessave on the drive. Rock the f on.

Someone please clarify:

When booting to Bank3 (matrix_TSOP_Fix.bin) with everthing soldered correctly, BIOS is booted (from the MODCHIP) then immediately releases to the onboard TSOP.

This allows whatever software flashing (via Evolution-X or AUF Raincoat) to be performed on the TSOP rather than the Bank0 of the mod.

seems to me that the root of most of the problems here is that this method including the original matrix method will only work on a v1.0 xbox. That's why it won't boot on other xbox's. It is not a multi version bios so it doesn't boot. It's much easier to use the save exploit and solder the jumpers on the mobo to do a quick TSOP flash.

I have a XBOX 1.2 and I tested this method.
With the MatrixTSOPflash bios it doesn't boot (red/green..).

I tried with the D6 TSOP.bin that comes with the Evox3921 and flashed it in the bank3.
I CAN boot from it, and i can go to the Flash Bios option an the TSOP is detected. In my case I have a problem because my tsop is Winbond 20T-90B and it can't be flashed from Evox, i need raincoat and the problem is when i try to load 007AUF (using the D6TSOP boot from bank3), the 007 loads but when i select Start to go to menu it hangs. Every app that i load using the D6TSOP hangs (with exception of Evox because evox loads perfect, ftp works,etc..).

About the matrixtsopflash i agree that it isn't multi, it works in 1.0, maybe 1.1 (i don't know), but i'm pretty sure that it doesn't work in 1.2-1.5.

So, in my case the issue is my tsop that can't be flashed from evox and i can't load raincoat from 007AUF because D6 tsop doesn't allow to run others programs well(at least in my case).

i don't know if you understand that you must boot from the tsop before you can flash it. It will not flash the tsop if you booted from the LPC. No matter what unless you use the method with the matrix_tsop_flash thing which is only for version 1.0. So you have to use a save exploit to load evox or raincoat.

Hi guys...I need some help with this one.  I'm trying to fix some issues left over from having an enigmah in my 1.0 xbox.  Obviously the TSOP was flashed and I'd now like to get it flashed back to the original so that I can possibly use xbox live.  I now have a chameleon installed and have tried to follow this guide.

I'm not having a great deal of success.  Been trying to flash bank 3 with the tsop flash and it keeps saying it's flashing bank 0.  Now when I try to go back to bank 0 I get the rainbow of lights.  Red, green, yellow all of it.

Is this because I need a 1mb bios for my system?  I had the chameleon in and working prior to trying to fix the tsop flash.

How do I flash bank 3 as mentioned?  I have all the points soldered that need to be (leftover from the enigmah install.)  I'm stuck.

What I'd like to end up with is to be able to run mode 4 and have access to live.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

well, if you are like me, you spent long hours trying to find just how to do it...
In all seriousness, its actually in the Chameleon users guide :P

1) you must solder the two points, one on top, one on the bottom of the MB, I will not go into that as the pics are all over th place

2) install your chameleon as per instructions, you need to connect a15!!!
a15 is how the chip accesses TSOP

3) flash bank 3 with your evox_tsop_flash...
                 trust me, flash bank 3...

4) put your chip in mode1 booting to bank 3

you might have wanted to do something before this, and that is, cut and paste the code for the evox.ini file out of the chameleon users guide, and put it into your evox.ini on your xbox

5) at this time, a note, if you a) have successfully flashed bank 3 with evox_TSOP_flash, you will boot into evox, if you do not have a15 connectec correctly, you will boot into the MSdash...that is a little test

6) if you successfully boot into evox, you should see the chameleon software controlls...providing you did the cut and paste suggested above:D

7) select flash bank 0, and choose whatever bios you want   !!!remember you must have the proper size bios file!!!

8) remove your chip, and enjoy

9) you might wanna clean up your evox.ini, and remove the chameleon software controll, as you no longer have a chip installed

you dont need to do any cryptic flipping of switches a half second into it, or anything like that...you can TSOP flash a xbox in less than an hour, if you have but the slightest clue

I have flashed 18 xbox's with one chip, 1.0, 1.1, and 1.3 boxes

I hope this helps anyone that needs it

I followed all this exactly, and when I go to flash Bank 0, it still detects the AMD BIOS on the Chameleon chip, not my Hynix TSOP.  I have a15 and D0 connected to the Chameleon. The chip is plugged into a pin header on my LPC bus, and I have the two motherboard-tsop-flash-enabling jumpers bridged; I know they work because I was dumb and flashed my tsop incorrectly (using an Enigmah, which is now out...stupid stupid...)

I flashed bank 0 initially with my DVD-RW to overwrite the Cromwell BIOS that came on the chip, and I flashed Bank 3 with the Xecuter BIOS as well, per your guide.  I booted to bank 3 in mode 1, and it still sees bank 0 as the Chameleon bios.

So...why is it still seeing my Chameleon as Bank 0?  Though, it makes sense that it does...that's how it's supposed to work.  Is there some other hardware modification I need to do to direct the flash to the onboard bios?

I tried this on my version 1.1 and it just frags when it tries to boot the evox_matrix_tsop_flash.bin.
I have a15 and d0 hooked up and d0 on a switch. if I flip the switch it boots to the ms dash.
Any idea's?
