Is It Possible?

sure.  Sounds like you had your TSOP (On board Memory) flashed.  Once this is done a modchip is not necessary (although highly recommended).  Not sure which bios you have on and if the TSOP is able to be reflashed with an updated bios.

I am really not sure how the whole TSOP Flash goes but if worse comes to worse you can always buy a chip.  Look for a tutorial on TSOP flashing or hopefully someone else can help you out.

TSOP is the onboard bios that comes with your xbox.  Usually holds the original bios and the chip overrides it.  When the TSOP is flashed it no longer holds the original MS bios but your evox2.3.  I am not sure if you are still setup to update it.

just see if you can flash it in evox. if you cant than check the write enable points on the motherboard. otherwise just ftp a newer bios to the bios folder on c: of your xbox and flash it.

if you have a hacked bios on your tsop you should be able to flash it again through evox provided the write enable points are soldered together. it makes no differance if you have a matrix or not. you would just be flashing the tsop instead of a matrix. what does evox say when you try to flash? does it recognize your tsop chip? does it say not writeable?
