A Question For Eb2k
« Reply #3 on: December 02, 2003, 09:35:00 AM »

It is true:

Xodus developed the chips and EasyBuy2000 manufactured them.  Easybuy2000 walked away from xodus and started to take the profits themselves.  The only problem was they are not putting out shotty chips because there is a lack of oversight (XODUS).

XODUS is working with a couple of manufacturing companies to produce more chips (updated chips for future versions as they still know how to do it.).

So for right now, Easybuy2000 is producing the chips themselves and cutting xodus out of the loop.

Just a small update.

They/he/she isn't going to answer you.
'They're' obviously chickenshit.

They've ripped a multitude of us off with nothing but the run around for our money spent.  We might as well have bought these from the back of a truck on the side of the road, it would have been about as safe.  They're support is shit, they're shipping is shit, they're quality is shit.  I'd compare them to a ghetto dump drug dealer but i personally feel that would give them too much credit.

I ordered from them without researching into their history or track record, so my loss is my fault.  I take full repsonsibility for that.  But this is really where the clear cut lines between a hustler and a real business comes into play.  These guys are no better than an e-bay scam.  It's a shame they used a good product to pull something off like this.

I've posted on another thread that there should be a sticky warning about purchasing through them, not so much as a slam against them but as fair warning to the public.  I'm not in charge here, hell i'm a n00b, so it's not up to me to say anymore than that.  But if they aren't going to answer for this mounting tension and poor service they've given then maybe it's not a bad idea.

What do you guys think?

I just started looking into modding my xbox this week.  I've spent about 10-15 hours reading stuff just to learn enough background to decide if I want to actually mod my box, what chip to get, and where to get the chip.  I've posted one message and JonDante responded right away with help.  I've read a lot of good stuff about him.  I've read a lot of bad things about easyBuy.  Where do you think I'm going to buy?

It seems to me that Xbox modding is something where a majority of information is shared word of mouth.  I'd think that easybuy would want to correct any bad information about them immediately.  That is unless, as somebody said earlier, the story is true and they really can't explain it in a positive way.

Oh and good job to sp8rky for being blunt.  I like it.

I wish I'd taken the time to research the company I was purchasing from before I ordered the no solder Chameleon. I didn't and that is my responsibility and I'll deal with the situations that arise. I ordered on the 17th November after seeing the link at the top of the main site here, thinking it was an endorsement. I was charged by Easybuy2000 within a couple of days, at this point I saw the big thread about delays on here and called Easybuy, I was assured that it would ship within a couple of days (after about an hour on hold) by customer service. Another couple of days passed and I was told that it would ship before thanksgiving and finally it did, it's not arrived yet, but I have a tracking number and it shows it on it's way.

I hope this is where my troubles with Easybuy2000 end and the chip is ok on arrival. If not I will be sending it back for a refund and ordering from JonDante.

A Question For Eb2k
« Reply #7 on: December 02, 2003, 07:51:00 PM »

it funny how eb2k cuts xodus out of the loop and then they (eb2k) suddenly have problems with about 3/4 of the chips they sell.  i originally purchased from them, then decided to cancel after reading up on them. so then i decide to buy from gocybershop.ca, well, it now seems that gocyber buys their chips from eb2k cause after placing another order for a cameleon le it suddenly goes out of stock. go figure.
hopefully i can expect some good news buying from an actual member of this board, (JD).

Omg, forget about Easybuy2000, they are pathetic. I got my chip from JonDante, he actually responds to emails and messages. And I am kinda surprized that I got a LE, was to pissed to see what I was getting when I bought it, but hey I'm not complaining!

This is to answer the original post by sp8rky.

To EVERY story there are 2 sides of it. You have heard ONLY 1 side of the story.
This story is NOT true.

As for us to comment on this we have chose to not go public with it.
This is a matter for the 2 parties to resolve by themselves.

OK,  let me see if I understand... you correctly...

1) The members of xbox-scene are not hearing the whole story .... and in fact there is another side to the story.

2) You claim that the story that was posted is NOT true.

3) You're setteling this matter privately.

4) You've chosen not to comment... with the exception being only to make the aforementioned comments...

It looks like your being selective in what you reply to... once again.
If it's not true... then what exactly are you setteling?

And by the way... this issue will be closed when the xbox-scene members say it's closed.

I have nothing against you and or your company but when we are hearing only one side of the story (so you say) and you are telling us nothing is wrong or the rumors (xodus e-mails to customers on mailing list) are false so it is hard not to speculate.  Why has Xodus reached out to customers explaining this matter and easybuy2000 simply kept quiet?  Why after this supposed break up does EasyBuy2000 not have a representative that works these forums when, by my records, there was never really one before?  This is not a dead issues as many faithful and loyal customers to the Chameleon and Matrix chips (your paying customers) are not understanding the whole story.

Just my thoughts.

Here are the facts:

eb2k has, and has always had, HORRIBLE service.

End of facts.

Now, beggining of *speculation*:

The story makes sense. Infact, with such a disreputable company, i would not doubt it whatsoever. Leppper may not have anything against EB2K, but *i do*. I have had personal experiences with the company, in which i waited 2 months for my product.

The above poster posts that the story is not true, but gives *no* insight into the situation. They are only hurting themselves by keeping their mouthes closed (and most likely hurting xodus aswell).

Now, i have never spoken to the xodus guys, nor would i care too. It was their decision to sell with eb2k (or manufacture with aswell if thats true) and THAT was a bad idea.

They knew eb2k's reputation. Everyone does. And they STILL decidided to go with them. THAT was a bad idea, and i will forever hold it against them.

This was a capitalistic decision, and a bad one at that. It was based *solely* off money, and not off of what is most important: customer service.

What does this tell everyone?

Dont buy from eb2k.

Quite frankly, with all of their mistakes and horrible reputation, i am highly surprised they are still in buisness.

We dont want to keep quiet but a lot of the information is sensitive .

If Xodus team whishes to talk public about it we will respond... however we wont give in to innuendo and rumors.

Than how about issuing a "press release" and explain the facts to us. This is really starting to leave a very bad taste in my mouth and I don't care to do business with people that have no ethical stature.
